WordPress: Track Site Searches with Google Analytics
Google Analytics has added a nice feature, the ability to track internal searches on your site. If you’re running a WordPress blog, there’s quite a simple way to set this up:
- Select your site in Google Analytics and click Edit.
- On the top right of the profile, you’ll need to click Edit.
- Scroll down the page and you’ll find Site Search. Select “Do”, then for the query parameter select “s”. If you’d like to see each query parameter independently, you can select Yes to that option as well.
My understanding is that it won’t capture stats immediately. Be patient, they’ll begin showing up!
Note: I’m testing out video capture options, please be patient with the embedded video. I’ll continue to refine these so that you can see the necessary steps involved.
