Bing Leaves Twitter in the Dust… and Rising
So much of the industry is pushing marketers towards social media as the cure to growing their business online. I do believe that there are opportunities to growing your business through social media, but it pales in comparison to a great search engine marketing strategy.
Andy Beal at Marketing Pilgrim released a post on Bing’s growth. The growth is due to a combination of relevance, usability, and listening to customers’ needs… something a bit uncharacteristic of Microsoft’s history.
As you look at online for your marketing to grow and acquire customers, it must start with search engine marketing. There’s nothing more relevant. Searchers are typically researching with an intent to buy, with keywords about your product or service, and doing it when they are ready to buy. Aside from these advantages, it’s apparent that search still holds all the numbers as well.
