Looking for the plan? Or simply criticizing the bad one?

PlanI truly believe that the Dems have an uphill battle because they simply haven’t released a collective plan in dealing with terrorism, the war in Iraq, the economy, the border, the Patriot Act, the minimum wage and social security. I have no idea what they want to do. I keep looking for a response, but can’t find one. I’m a Libertarian at heart, my belief is that if we can keep the parties even in Washington, the less they can screw up. But I need to hear what the plan is before I vote one way or the other.

Why would you vote for someone when you don’t know their plan? Is a bad plan better than no plan? I don’t know that that’s a question that can be answered. Nobody knows. I think that this is the problem with the elections right now… people are going to vote for a plan, even if there’s a chance it’s a bad one. Do I think that the Dems could do a better job on some of these things? Sure I do… but without a plan, I can’t vote for them. I can’t simply vote against a bad plan… I need a better one to vote for.

This is something I see everyday in business as well. People are put into positions of great authority that have absolutely no plan. They simply show up to work, put out the fires, and go home every day. Some of them come in and criticize everyone else’s plan (is that a plan?).

There are some who elevate themselves from the crowd… not by taking a step up… but by putting everyone else down.

I want a leader with a plan. I want the 3 month plan, the 6 month plan, the 1 year, 5 year and 10 year plan. I want to know where I’m going. I want a leader that steps up, delegates, takes responsibility, gives credit where it’s due, holds people accountable, and communicates effectively. That’s who I’ll vote for. That’s who I want to work with. That’s who I want to work for. I’m losing faith that people are encouraged to do this these days, though. It seems easier just to sit back and complain how stupid everyone else is.

Sadly, it appears that it’s a strategy that seems to work in business and politics. I’m not going for it. I refuse to work or vote without a plan.
