The Best Blogs You’ve Never Heard Of!

TechnoratiWith many folks simply following the most popular blogs, some miss the point of the blogosphere altogether. The great thing about the blogosphere is that you need not have your information ‘fed’ to you by the powers that be.

I read a ton of ‘no name’ blogs and find a wealth of information. I think there are a few A-list bloggers that I pay attention to, but the majority of the blogs I read are about folks that may be in the same economic and business standing as myself. I’m not looking to be the next Tom Peters… but I do want to be at the top of my game.

With that, there really are many blogs out there that you should be able to find. You can find them through tools like Technorati, but sometimes they need a little boost. How can you give a blogger a boost? Simply by making mention of them in one of your blog entries. It’s that simple! Each time you have a link to my blog on your site, it will increase my ranking and authority in the blogosphere.

This is democracy at its best. In fact, some folks like some blogs so much that they encourage the growth of a blog’s authority by asking fellow bloggers to mention some key blogs. Think of it as a ‘blog petition’. Here’s an example, in Revenge of the Z-Lister, Mack pulls his top list of 5 blogs and asks everyone to give them a mention.

Mike over at ConverStations has given me the ultimate compliment by adding me to the list! So – in return, I’d like you to check out Mike’s site… he may have one of the most diverse and comprehensive blogrolls I’ve ever seen!

And when you get a chance, check out the blogs that Mike and Mack mentioned, the best blogs you’ve never heard of:

My two additions:

  • Sports Marketing 2.0 – More than sports, Pat has incredible insight into building relationships with customers through marketing.
  • Black In BusinessIMHO, there simply is not enough of a minority community in the blogosphere. Jim is surprised by the attention his blog is already getting – much of it outside the black community. I’m not surprised, everyone has much to learn when it comes to race and how it impacts business – especially in this global market.

I love Mike’s line… read these blogs and “they’ll make you smarter”. Enough said! Be sure to mention your favorite blogs in your next blog entry if they help “make you smarter”. If you’d like to be a part of this exercise, copy (ctrl-A) in the following textarea and paste it into your next post:

  • Damn. Proof Lewis. That should be You're...
  • Doug,

Your the best my friend. Thank you for the shout out.
  • Thanks for the mention! Take a look at my blog -- I highlighted the revised Z-list so now it can be sorted by subject and each blog has a description. It makes reviewing each blog much easier.
    Chris
  • You are absolutely right Doug. Most of the best blogs that I read are not in the Technorati Top 100. With so many blogs out there, it is very difficult to grab people's attention. Thanks for pointing me to some great blogs that I've never heard of.
  • I suppose that I should point out that the MSCO blog is actually titled, Unconventional Thinking.

However, most people know Mark Stevens from his books, Your Marketing Sucks, and Your Management Sucks.

We're working on an appropriate post to commemorate this event. You'll see it soon.

    Thanks,
    Chris K.
