Creationism vs. Naturalism vs. Intelligent Design

I’m reading a lot in the newspapers on Creationism vs. Naturalism vs. Intelligent Design. The arguments are growing louder and louder on all sides of the arguments. Some secularists are against Creationism being taught in school… some religious fanatics are for the literal translation of the Bible and don’t believe in evolution or intelligent design.

The ironic similarity between all of these arguments is that they are all theories. As a Christian, it may sound as though I’m being blasphemous by stating so. However, I have yet to see indisputable proof of any of these theories being found true. In science, there is no ‘missing link’ between the species of life. And though I have faith that the Bible is true, I also realize that, in and of itself, the Bible does not provide proof against evolution, Darwinism, or Intelligent Design.

To believe in any theory, the unique similarity is that we must have faith. Scientists who believe in evolution vs. creationism have faith in their theory. Christians, Jews, and Muslims who have faith in a Higher Power creating the Man and Earth have faith that this is the truth.

Who am I to judge? Why can’t we pursue educating ourselves on all theories. Why is one ‘bad’ and the other ‘good’? Why is one wrong and the other right? Why is one good and the other evil?

Fanatics would have you believe that evolution violates the sanctity of the teachings. On the contrary, I believe it’s a marvelous God indeed who has created this thing called ‘life’. Life that pursues knowledge of its own existence. Life that adapts over time. Life that evolves. Wow – what a brilliant God He must be to have been the architect of such a miracle.

Science would have you believe it’s all about evolution, species ‘jumping’ the evolutionary ladder, Darwinism at its finest. But the theories don’t explain free will, love, hate, pride, regret, good, forgiveness, compassion, or evil.

I think it ironic that Secularists and Scientists who passionately argue against religion and creationism due so with the one gift they can not ever explain through their own theories… Faith. That doesn’t mean that I don’t respect them or that I don’t think their voices should be heard. They should be heard! But no quieter or louder than any other theory. To truly be educated, one must have an understanding off all theories when the proof does not exist.

I look forward to the day when I will find out what the truth is! Of course, I already have faith that I know.

Doug , I am doing a research paper in my class, and I'm doing it on creatisum and intelectual design, I feel the same way you do
although, I had something happen to me that I know there is a god and i know that weather he created the universe or not, it had to be a higher being that the universe was created. if it was self made it doesn't consitute the foliage animalmals, and humans, how intriguate we were made. Einstein later recalled" His biggest Blunder of his career. Granted I'm listening with open mind but in my heart I Know that throgh the years God has done some pretty remarkable things even today.

If I had the choice to chose my parents who would I chose
1) My biological parents?
2) Or the Chimp in the Zoo's parents?
But now, I do not have that choice. I have to accept the facts.
SO WHAT ARE THE FACTS.
There are many arguments for and against Dawinism
But if I have to choose and I have to I will choose Faith and Creation
No argument no debate. If God said it that settles it.
With out Faith it is imposoble to please God (Heb 11:6)
and if I discard the crweation account of the bible do i then discard God? Yes if God said it, it has to be true.
Now I ask if as if I want an answer from you, yes I do
Because what you decide determains what you believe and what you believe constitutes your faith.
It is not a easy step to take but a nessesary one
Let those who want to argue, argue but as for me I will believe
and as Joshua said" As for me? "Me and my house will serve the Lord" I recently had the privalidge to after 12
years of labouring to winn my friend's soul for Christ, acheaved it by speaking one simple verse. All my reasoning of all the years came to nothing but Gods word pennetrated his heart and on his death bed accepted Christ as His saviour . That was a mirracle beacaue he was a staunch believer of Dawinism, the origion of the species and evolution. But Died 2 weeks ago a believing, saved, forgiven sinner who deserved hell but changet it for heaven Through faith alone.
You see you dont have to convince God, he knows the answer. Just convince your self to rather trust Him than man.
